"Mountain View Data Recovery Services salvaged what remained of the data on my broken drive. I gotta admit, it took some swallowing of pride to finally refer to "the experts", as I really wanted to recover the data myself. But in the end, I'm happy, I got a good part of my files back, and all in a relatively short amount of time (2 days between my first phone call and now, when my data is back and safe). 5 stars and a thank you to Mountain View Data Recovery Services."

"This is the company I recommend if you loose important data and I speak from more then one experience. Oh believe me, data recovery companies can be so annoying to work with. I can't believe Ive been dumb enough to need them three times already, first a few years ago when my laptop wouldnt turn on, then again when my OTHER laptop wouldn't turn on... this time its my external hard drive where i store pictures and music, no computer can read from it anymore.
Anyways, go with this company simply cause theyre a thousand times less annoying - they respond quick, keep you updated like with what theyre doing, if they notice issues, etc. Oh and their evaluetion is free so they dont charge you at the outset, in fact, they dont charge you anything until they're done."

"Go with Data Recovery Mountain View California. I came to them when my RAID 5 suddenly lost 2 of the 3 HDDs and the system did not boot anymore. I tried a rescue operation from the last drive, but screwed it up, and no computer was able to read ANY of the disks. I took it to Data Recovery Mountain View California and they restored everything to working order, as if nothing had ever happened. What more can I say? Thanks Data Recovery Mountain View California, it's been a pleasure."

"Our company just had a very embarrassing incident. We had a backup system in place - or, to be more precise, we thought we did. Our server was configured to archive and sync all our critical data to an offsite storage system in a facility in another state. This would have been a proper and safe way to backup our data - had the data actually been saved in a readable format!!!
You see, we never had anything bad happen until a week ago, so we never really needed to restore from any of our backups. We just kept backing up and thought everything was dandy, until our server died right under our noses one fine morning and we needed to get back up and running STAT. So we quickly switched to our failsafe server, downloaded our latest backup archive from our out-of-state repository, and tried to unpack it and -- IT DIDN'T WORK!!!! The archive COULDN'T BE READ!!
We phoned Moutain View California Data Services and told them this was an EMERGENCY - we needed to recover either the unreadable archive, or the data from our failed server, whichever, but we needed it NOW.
What happened next I remember very clearly, because when you're bleeding money by the second, you tend to remember these things. Within 20 minutes, a courier came to pick up the server and haul it back to their facilities. Half an hour later, they phoned us to tell us they found the issue with the server, that they would be able to recover the data very soon. It took an hour for the next phone call, which was a very painful wait at the time, but looking back now, that was remarkably short. They were finished! We got a new, identical drive back with the data on it, which they helped us install into our server on site for us. We were back in business, just two hours after the incident!
There are two morals in this story. One of them is, go with Moutain View California Data Services - they are great at what they do, very helpful, professional, and most importantly for us, very swift!
Oh, and second, don't place too much faith in backups, make sure they actually work before settling down."
